BioWork 5070: Column Chromatography Separation (Grape Soda)

BioWork 5070: Column Chromatography Separation (Grape Soda)

Overview

Chromatography is a common technique to purify a pharma product. It’s how we break down a complex mixture into a single material. In this demonstration, we’ll use a mini chromatography column, the Sep-Pak C-18, to separate the red and blue dyes in grape soda.

The BioWork certificate program will teach you the foundational skills you need to begin a career as a process technician for a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing company. BioWork is offered at NC Community Colleges around the state. To find the one nearest you, visit ncbionetwork.org/biowork.
