The events of September 11, 2001 changed everything, including the way we view and treat food! Human and animal food manufacturers, processors, packers, and holding facilities need knowledge of food defense strategies to protect their products and to meet requirements from The Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002. Explore why food defense is important, types of contamination and attacks, food defense tools, and regulatory food defense plan requirements. Lectures are supplemented with a hands-on demonstration of building an online food defense plan. Participants will gain knowledge of food defense principles and resources. Participants will also walk away with the skill of navigating, populating, and submitting a food defense plan through the FDA website. Intended attendees include senior leaders, supervisors, or anyone responsible for food defense plans in your organization.
