BioNetwork is partnering with NC biopharma companies and staffing agencies to host our upcoming Virtual Career Fair. Over 100 jobs will be available through this event.

All candidates

Before creating or updating your resume:

  1. Learn more about the biopharma industry by watching the Getting Started videos. Click here
  2. Learn how to highlight your transferable skills by completing the Creating Your Biopharma Resume series. Click here.

When submitting your resume:

  1. The file name for your resume should be your first and last name. For example, John-Smith-Resume
  2. The name on your resume should be the same one used to Reserve Your Spot.
  3. Use a professional email address. It will be used by the company for follow-up communication if you are selected
Existing community college students
  1. If you attended a previous BioNetwork Career Fair then your resume is already approved and you can move to Step 3. Event registration emails will be sent beginning on October 14.
  2. Submit your resume for review to your community college contact.
  3. We will contact you if any resume improvements are needed.
Community college alumni
  1. You are eligible for professional resume review.
  2. Email your updated resume to career-fair@ncbionetwork.org
All other candidates 

For those not affiliated with the NC Community College System

Attend a webinar

Candidates who attend at least one webinar report a better career fair experience. Each webinar will be offered twice, beginning with a morning session followed by a repeat of the session in the evening.

Webinar 1: Pro tips for the Career Fair
Topics covered include a platform walkthrough and pro tips for scheduled chat and video chat. Advanced LinkedIn and job research best practices will also be discussed.

Webinar 2: Prepare for Success
This is a must-attend event to avoid common pitfalls and have a smooth career fair experience.

Apply for a position(s)

  1. If applying with Merck, review the SAM Test information.
  2. Use your approved resume to apply for positions before the career fair.

Pro tips for texts and video chats

  1. Candidates will connect with company representatives via 10 minute text or video chat.
  2. Be in a quiet place, preferably with a headset or earbuds.
  3. Choose a professional background or environment. Remember, what’s behind you will be visible on camera.
  4. Attire should be neat and orderly – business casual or business professional is fine.

Career fair registration emails will be sent to you from BioNetwork beginning October 14. If you have an approved resume and have not received your registration email by October 21, please contact us at: career-fair@ncbionetwork.org.

When registering on the career fair platform (Brazen.com):

  1. Be ready to submit your resume.
  2. Use consistent and professional contact information:
    1. Use the same name and email address from your resume.
    2. Check your email address regularly for updates.
  3. Submit your resume in PDF format.
    1. You will not be fully registered until you have uploaded your resume.
    2. You will receive a confirmation email when you are fully registered from Brazen.com. 

Pro tips:

  1. Submit your final resume as early as possible.
  2. Companies will review resumes ahead of the event.
  3. Event communication and scheduled chat invitations will be sent to the email address you provide on the registration form.
  4. Some companies will send scheduled chat invitations to select candidates with resumes on the platform well in advance.
  5. You can avoid long lines and talk to the representatives at a scheduled time only if your resume is on the platform in advance.

The online event portal will open at the scheduled time shown above. Use your registration email to log in and access the lobby. Once in the lobby, you can get in line to speak with company representatives.

Pro tips:

  1. Strong internet connectivity is critical. Make sure you are in a location with good internet.
  2. Be professional. This is a formal interview screening process.
  3. Remember that each conversation session is limited to 10 minutes, so be succinct and efficient with your time and responses.
  4. Be aware of your background. If your camera can see it, so can the interviewer.
  5. If you accepted a Scheduled Chat invitation, be sure you are on the platform at least five minutes prior to the start of your Scheduled Chat.
