
Basic Microbiology
This course introduces students to the basics of microbiology and cells. Topics include the description and identification of cell types, parts of a cell and their functions, a basic introduction into the Krebs cycle (The Citric Acid Cycle) and the effects of metabolism on cell growth, and photosynthesis concepts. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of what makes the ideal conditions for cell growth and why these conditions are important to the biomanufacturing industry.
