
Applied Cell Culture
This course is designed as an introduction to bioprocessing procedures involving living cells. Topics include an overview of fermentation, bioreactors, growth conditions that can affect the rate of cell growth, the use of antibiotics to reduce viral and bacterial contamination, and microbial resistance to treatments. Upon completion, the students should be able to demonstrate and understanding of the processes used in cell growth to ensure successful completion to finished product.
