BioWork—Prepare to work as an entry-level process technician for a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing company. Units included in this course are introduction to bioprocessing, safety, quality, measuring variables, transforming materials, process machinery and controls, sterile processes, growing living cells, and marketing the smart worker.
The program is for individuals with a minimum of a high school education and basic computer literacy. Required: testing for reading and math competency. Exemption from reading and math testing MAY be granted upon presentation of proof of associate or bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university at the information session. Information session attendance is required.
