National Center for Biotechnology Workforce
The National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce (NCBW) was created through a US Department of High Growth Grant initiative in September 2004 and operated in this capacity until September 2008. On October 1, 2008 the NCBW became a seventh center of BioNetwork, a statewide Biotechnology training and educational initiative, through a cooperative agreement between the US DOL, Forsyth Technical Community College and the North Carolina Community College System's BioNetwork.
National Center for Biotechnology Workforce
The primary mission of the NCBW is to represent, support and provide leadership at the national level on behalf of BioNetwork, particularly with organizations, educational and training institutions compatible with BioNetwork Center missions. Examples: Biotechnology International Organization, the NSF-ATE, Bio-Link, US DOL-ETA, Bioscience WIRED Initiative, Biotechnology Institute, NAM and AED . We strongly support our local community college biotechnology programs in the Piedmont Triad. Our dual mission is to provide communications support for the BioNetwork Centers through enhancement of internal and external communications.
